Review by hotel critic
High Tor Guest House is an absolute gem in the heart of Whitby, where my partner and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in style. the room was beautifully decorated, with a super king bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud. the breakfast was a highlight, with locally sourced ingredients cooked to perfection by the friendly owners, John and Lisa. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the cliff top where we enjoyed breathtaking views of the beach below. We loved the little touches in the room, like the fresh fruit, bathrobe, and tea/coffee maker - it made us feel right at home. As designers, we appreciated the unique scrambled Latin decor throughout the guest house, adding a touch of sophistication to the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway in Whitby.
